9 Months

Our little man is 9 months old! We can't believe all the things he can do, it's pretty amazing. He is a very happy baby and we love him so much.
This is what he's up to at 9 months...
Standing up to everything...
laundry basket toilet-gross:(
trunk
basketball hoop
toilet paper (he likes unrolling it)
Trying to roll the ball to Dad.

Babbling
Can say "Mama" too, but I didn't get it on video. It's pretty cute.

9 Months

Getting into everything...like my purse. Working on getting his 2 teeth in still.
Hates getting dressed and undressed, he won't hold still anymore.
Loving all kinds of food, especially ours!

Aunt Savannah

Yesterday was Tyler's sister Savannah's birthday. So awhile ago I had her make a list of all of her favorite things and I made this collage. I hope it will be fun for her to remember her favorite things at 19. Can you find me, Tyler, and Jacoby in there? :) My mom did one of these for Olivia and for herself and they turned out awesome, so I decided to do one. Savannah is a really fun girl, we love her. She is a great aunt, and Jacoby just loves her.

Last night she was holding Jacoby while he pounded on the piano. It was so cute because he just kept looking up at her.

So most of you know that I'm really into digital scrapbooking...it's the BEST! Well I have never made any digital cards so I decided to do some birthday cards. I decided to do hybrid, so I did the main part digitally and then I made a paper card and placed them on it. It was so fun. I'm going to print a bunch so I can just have them on hand.

Goodbye Thomas

First off I just have to talk a little bit about our little guy. . .
I can't believe how much Jacoby has changed in the last month, he keeps me very busy now. I took some pictures of Jacoby crawling the other day so that I could do this layout. When I was trying to get these pictures I would go across the room from him and it was so hard to get some good pictures because he just came right at me for the camera...it made me laugh.

My brother, Thomas, left on his mission last Tuesday. He's a great kid and will do such a good job serving in Brazil.
Last Monday we went to lunch with Thomas.
My little family with Tom

This has been one of the hardest things I have ever done. I think we will all feel a lot better when we get a letter tomorrow or Wednesday. I'm so proud of Thomas, he's such a great example to me, I love him so much.

I knew it was only a matter of time...

Thomas leaves on Tuesday and it's finally starting to seem real to me. I'm going to miss him SO much. He's such a wonderful brother and I love seeing him with Jacoby and the other grandkids. So today since I was feeling sad I decided to scrap this picture of the two of them together. I love you Tom, you will be such an awesome missionary, but I sure can't wait for you to be home. :) So I knew it was only a matter of time before....
Jacoby would be standing up to things. I put him down for his nap the other day, go to check on him and he's standing up. As you can tell he thinks he is so funny! :)
The last video of Jacoby crawling was just the very beginnings of his crawling, and now he's a fast little sucker. Of course I had to bribe him with my keys because I knew he couldn't resist those. He's sure a fun kid, I can't believe how much he has changed within the last few weeks.

8 Months Already

I can hardly believe that our little man is eight months old today! People are constantly telling me that he has an older face and I don't like that because he is just growing up way too fast anyways. He doesn't need to be looking any older than he is. Ha ha. There are so many things that he has learned to do in the last month and I wanted to remember them by taking pictures. We love you Jacoby, you're such a happy boy!
At 8 months you...
Still love naps with mom, and I do too! Love looking at yourself in the mirror.

Sleep from 8:30-7:00 a.m. (usually)

Crawling a lot now! (see video below too)

Getting 2 teeth now.

I Think I Can Call This Crawling Now :)

Well Jacoby has been scooting, pulling, and trying so hard to figure out how to crawl. He has been getting up on his hands an knees for awhile now, but quickly face plants, but I think he's finally figured it out. So today was the first day that he really crawled, it was pretty exciting. He doesn't go clear across the room or anything, only about a foot is all, but he did it! My baby is growing up, and he's getting into everything. I can't believe it! It takes Jacoby a minute to get going, but be patient. :)

Our Cute Boys & A Great Recipe

We got to see Becca, Lonnie, and their cute boys on Saturday and it was a blast. I love getting together with them. We planned to have our boys wear these matching outfits that we got from our Aunt Sherry and cousin Hailey to take pictures together. Of course it's pretty tough to get a good picture of both of them, but they turned out pretty cute I think.
This picture of Johnny reminds me so much of my dad, I can't get over it, I love it.

I just posted a great recipe on our recipe blog for Mango Chicken Fajitas, you will all love it! We only post recipes on Make Your Tastebuds Dance that are tried and true and are our very favorite recipes, so check it out sometime. My mother-in-law gave me this wonderful recipe and it's one of their family's favorites.

I think he's got it too

Well I think it's safe to say that Jacoby is getting curly hair. Oh boy! Whenever he gets out of the tub his hair is just crazy. This picture below is right after his bath when he was in bed. Look at those curls
When Tyler and I were dating he used to always tell me that my hair was "cool." I didn't really like that and would always ask him why he couldn't say it was cute or something instead. ha ha. So now that Jacoby has a little bit of curl in his hair he keeps telling him how "cool" it is and he insists that we put gel in it so that you can tell it's curly. It makes me laugh. I love this picture of my little man.

Cutest Babies Born in 2008

Jacoby!
We've been waiting for the annual "Babies Born in 2008" to be in the Post Register, and it was finally in today's paper. We don't get the paper, so after church we went looking all over town for a newspaper dispenser. The first place we went they were out, but we finally found some. Ha ha. I know we could've just waited and look at one of our parents', but obviously we couldn't wait. We were excited to see that Jacoby was picked for the August winner! Go Jacoby! I just had to post these pictures and brag a little. Ha ha. So if you haven't seen him in the paper yet, go check it out.
second row, second picture
These pictures aren't very good because I just took a picture of the newspaper, but he's still a cutie!

Baby Krew

One of my very best friends, Katelyn, had her baby on Monday morning. They are naming him Krew Douglas Messick. He weighed 7 lbs 3 oz and 21 inches long. Lyndsi and I went to see them yesterday at the hospital, he's so sweet. He has so much hair and it's dark and curly. Kate and Doug just looked so happy, I'm so excited for them. It will be so fun to have little boys close in age. Kate looked great too, she is such a gorgeous girl. I can't wait to see him again. I didn't take Jacoby because he has a bad cold, but I can't wait to get a picture of them together. Kate and I have matching sweaters for Jacoby and Krew that they should both fit into soon, so that will be lots of fun. I'm so glad that Krew was born healthy and that they are both doing great!

Cupcakes

Yesterday Jacoby and I went to Cold Stone with Steph, Olivia, and Thomas to try out their new ice cream cupcakes. They are super messy, well that's what me and Steph thought...we had ice cream and cake all over are noses. Thomas kept saying, "Uh, you have some cake on your nose still" or "You have in all over in your teeth." I was glad that I was with my siblings and not anyone else, but actually I wish we could've just taken them to my parent's to eat and then I wouldn't have cared at all. I would've just made a real mess and washed my whole face off afterword. :) Anyway...they are pretty yummy, you'll have to go try them! It was fun to spend time with them, especially Thomas, I'm really going to miss that kid. I have been trying to get a few pictures of Jacoby with Thomas before he leaves, so here's one.
My cousin, Chad, just received his mission call to the same mission as Thomas, Campinas, Brazil. We were all so surprised, but so excited for them both. That will be such a wonderful thing for them to share together. My mom just did this scrapbook page of Jacoby and I thought it was darling so I had to post it. Jacoby is such a happy baby, I love all the pictures of our smiley guy.

what we've been up to...

I've been wanting to scrapbook this page for a long time. This was our very first family picture with Jacoby that my mom took. I can still remember how amazing that moment was to see him for the very first time. It was such an emotional experience. I would do it over again if I had too, it's so worth it. Even right after I had him I remember thinking, yeah that was definitely uncomfortable and painful, but now I have this wonderful baby because of it. That was a feeling that you can't get any other way. It's so awesome. We're so blessed to have him in our family. My friend, Katelyn, is having a baby any day now and I can't wait for her to be able to experience this. Love ya Kate! Good luck!My sister, Olivia, had a competition yesterday and they got first in their division. So they will be heading to state pretty soon, she will have so much fun. She did awesome. This is her first year cheering and she competed with the varsity team. It was a lot of fun to go and watch her, she's an awesome flyer and a great dancer. I wish I could've danced half as good as her when I cheered. :) It brought back some great memories from when I cheered, some of my best times ever! Love ya Livi!
Becca and her boys came up from Pocatello for the competition. It was so fun to see them. I wanted to get a picture of Becca and I with our little boys, and of course Trey wanted in on the picture. They're all growing up so fast!

Just a picture I love of our little man, he's pretty sweet! Love this look on his face.

Tyler's sister, Savannah, came over the other night to visit, so I made sure to get a picture of her and Jacoby. We love when she comes to see us, it's always fun to have visitors.
